Creative Escape 2024

This year, we invited our team to join us for a Creative Escape at Louma - an extraordinary retreat overlooking one of our favourite spots on the Jurassic Coast: Lyme Regis. With stunning views, tranquil vineyards, a rejuvenating spa, and food that can only be described as unforgettable, Louma provided the perfect setting for our annual tradition.

We began our Creative Escape tradition last year, and after such a positive response from the team, we knew we had to build on that success. This year, we expanded on what worked, crafting a retreat that balanced relaxation, reflection, and a deep connection to nature and each other.

The concept of our retreat is simple: step away from our normal roles - no sketching, no CAD and immerse ourselves in a space that inspires. At Louma, we took time to play, connect, and enjoy. Instead of diving into projects, we reflected on broader strategic goals for the studio and the team.

The days were filled with moments of shared joy and relaxation. Whether it was running the scenic 5K loop around the farm, soaking in a hot sauna, or exploring the great outdoors, every experience was a reminder of the importance of stepping back and appreciating life.

This retreat wasn’t just a getaway; it was a chance to realign with what truly matters—creativity, connection, and a shared appreciation for the journey we’re on as a team. We returned to the studio refreshed, inspired, and more in tune with the values that drive our work at Studiowood.

Cosy time in the Furrow

This year, on the 2nd of December we headed to Louma a 100 acre farm and retreat, made up of vineyards, a working farm and beautiful spa. Our time away is designed to be intimate and simple. We intend to always have this as the primary mission. We believe it builds a better foundation to our studio team and a connection which informs understanding of our team outside of work. As a team we enjoyed trail run Louma offered us on Strava, the state of the art gym, pool, sauna and amazing food which was made for us from farm to folk.

In today’s fast-paced world, where quantity often overshadows quality, we strive to instil in our team the importance of crafting meaningful work and cherishing experiences that endure. Our recent time away at Louma was an opportunity to live this philosophy - to disconnect, unwind, and embrace the value of shared, lasting memories.

We returned to the studio recharged and more deeply connected to our purpose: to create designs that are loved, that endure, and that honor the world around us. After all, nothing is more timeless than nature itself.
