Chilly’s Sport Flip Bottle

Our longstanding partnership with Chilly’s was established in 2017. The Chilly’s team briefed us to design a reusable sports bottle to complement their current range.

Creating a sports lid involves finding the right balance between practicality, safety, and looks. Our task was to come up with a design that works seamlessly with Chilly’s Series 2 bottle. We aimed to make it easy to drink vertically with one hand, prevent spills, and easy to clean.

The Chilly’s sports FLIP bottle is made for people on the go. It has a recognizable shape and a telescopic stainless steel straw that works with all Series 2 bottle sizes. It has a sports flip-lid, a comfortable carrying loop, and antimicrobial drinking surfaces. With double-wall vacuum technology, the bottle keeps drinks cold for 24 hours. It’s free from harmful BPA, preserves flavour and freshness, and is compatible with the Series 2 water bottle.

The Product

We love every minute working with Studio Wood. They are key partners for Chilly's and have allowed us to realise our own portfolio of beautiful designed reusables.

The Process

01-04

Discover

In our quest to create the perfect sports water bottle, we explored the market extensively through research and competitor testing. This knowledge allows us to craft a design brief that captured the very essence of the ultimate Flip bottle.

02-04

Design

In this phase, we translated the design brief into various fitting options, uncovering clever and thoughtful solutions that resonated with the brief's core. At the same time, we delved into Chilly’s design language, developing it beyond the original Series 2 Bottle and Coffee Cup and into a new active category.

03-04

Develop

Having pinpointed a design solution, we transitioned into a meticulous development phase. Through multiple iterations and prototypes, we rigorously refined the concept until it reached a production-ready state, ensuring it could be manufactured to the utmost quality standards.

Deliver

We teamed up closely with Chilly's trusted suppliers to make sure our product was delivered seamlessly. We kept the conversation flowing to make sure every detail was taken care of, upholding the highest quality standards and aligning perfectly with our design specifications.

We believe that great design is in the details. This drove us to refine every mechanical part of our creation through hands-on design and testing. From the satisfying 'click' as the spout locks into place, to a silicone boot that covers the end of the metal straw to stop any metal on metal sounds, each detail was thoughtfully considered.
